By the time you reach this stage you should have your web site up and running with at least one page layed out in a general manner that you feel is appropriate. It's time to get some items to promote, add the proper links and/or banners to your page and then when you are all set up, start promoting it. |

These publications reveal many tips and tricks for greatly increasing your online profits and often include helpful, free bonus programs and items. Step 4 - Promoting Your Site
This is the final step in getting your online business going. We would just like to mention a few things before we go on. Promoting your site is extremely important. Obviously if you only have 10 visitors to your site in a week then you only have 10 potential customers. If you have 1000 visitors then you have 1000 potential customers. No surprises there. One of the mistakes that is often made however is that people simply do not do enough promotional work. Don't let that happen to you. Try to remember that while you are in the initial stages of starting an online business it can seem like forever before things start rolling. To be successful may require a lot of patience. Stick with it and don't give up. On our traffic page we have listed many hit generating sites and search engines. This is how you will be doing your promotional work. Do not rely on the search engines alone. If you do you are making a big mistake. The traffic generating sites will send hits to your site almost immediately. It's possible that you may never get any hits out of many of the search engines. It may sound incredible but it's true. There are just too many web sites competing. Even if you are listed in a search engine at number 100 out of a possible 10,000 search results, how many people are going to be looking through 100 results to get to your site? Now, having said that, don't neglect the search engines either, because when you do get results they tend to be very good, just don't rely on them as your only source of promotion. One last point before we go. Don't waste hits on a site that isn't ready. Would you buy something from a web site that looks like it was thrown together in 5 minutes and has "Under Construction" signs all over? Get your site together first, then promote like crazy.
